Covid-19 The Invisible Deadly Alien

Trust all is well with you under these trying times.

My sister had a medical emergency in January 2020 and I had to urgently fly to London to help with her recovery.

I had to take the advice of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs seriously in March as Covid-19 was moving at a frantic phase especially in London. 

I am back in Singapore in self isolation at a very comfortable hotel Studio M at Clarke Quay.

When I left Singapore the disease looked like it was only confined to South East Asia similar to SARS.

In my opinion the authorities in Europe perhaps with the exception of Germany were unprepared. 

There were a few cases in UK and France but there was no urgency to be serious about public health measures.

What resulted was that racism reared its ugly head when one of our own young student got beaten up by ruffians in London. This is a negative outcome

By 23 March the whole of UK had to deal with social distancing. Pubs🍻, cinemas🍕 and restaurants🍣 had to close. British label it police state when the home team was given powers to fine people who flout rules.

When I first blogged about the disease I addressed it as the wuhan virus. 

Since then The World Health Organisation has given it an official designation Covid-19

COV is corona virus

19 is 2019 (when it started) 

Positive outcome

Having a name matters to prevent stigmatising

Follow me through my 14 days of self isolation. I have to truly change my mindset and come away with something positive.
