Nectar of the Gods

In some cultures bees are believed to be messengers of the Gods and they produce honey for the Gods to relish.
Honey has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of medical problems.
Fun Fact – Honey if sealed properly will not expire because of its low water content. Moulds and bacteria are unable to survive under such conditions

👍 Good news ! Modern research is finding evidence for many of the historical uses of honey.
Scientific Findings
Pooled data from 14 suitable trials show that honey is an effective cough suppressant
Number of subjects : 1761 participants of varying ages.
Two of the studies showed that symptoms lasted one to two days less among those treated with honey.
Intake of honey was associated with a significantly greater reduction in symptoms, specifically cough severity and frequency.
Reduction in night time coughing improves sleep. This is especially calming for children
Honey should not be given to children below the age of 1
Honey is widely available and many homes will probably stock a bottle
It is more effective than many over-the-counter medicines. It has virtually no side effects if taken in moderation
World Health Organisation identifies honey as a potential demulcent treatment for cough (substance that relieves irritation of the mucous membranes in the mouth by forming a protective film)
Quick Fix God’s Nectar

One teaspoon honey in a mug. A squeeze of lemon juice
Add in warm water and stir
This drink will help to relieve a cough

For an irritated throat take one teaspoon neat honey and let it trickle down throat
