Getting poked by a needle is never a nice experience 😰
Nevertheless there is no need to be anxious – Just follow the advice to ease your anxiety
BEFORE
Regular exercise helps to grow more blood vessels. This expands the network of capillaries (small blood vessels) and improves circulatory system
If you are still waiting for your letter you can start an exercise routine slowly by walking with weights (heavy hands walking)

A good night’s sleep has been shown to improve immunity and develop a better antibody
response
Limit alcohol and caffeine intake
Eat a light dinner
If you are hungry at bedtime have a milk, soya or fruit juice and some biscuits
ACTUAL DAY
If your jab is in the morning take a light breakfast preferably cereals and hot beverage
Do not take any painkillers beforehand unless advised by your doctor
Wear a loose short sleeve T shirt. For conservative dressing use arm sleeves
Be punctual to the vaccination site
Bring along a family member of helper to accompany you
Listen carefully to instructions
Look away if you fear needles
Move your arm around to reduce soreness at the site of the jab
Ask attending medical staff about painkillers in case of some mild side effects such as sore
arm, headache or raised temperature
AFTER
After the observation period head straight home
Do not shop or browse around malls
If you need to eat have some soupy meals or snacks to take away
Better still have some home cooked porridge or oats
Do not exercise for a few days till the side effects subside
Eat light meals.
Prepare local desserts, fruit juice or infuse fruit/vegetable water or just plain water to keep hydrated

Remove the plaster after shower
Place an ice cold face towel on swollen arm to give relief
Resume your exercise after all your side effects have subsided
In most cases the slight discomfort will be gone in a day or two
Take a day off work if necessary
Repeat the same for your second jab. You may experience more intense side effects. Do not be scared.
However if you feel very unwell you should call 995 or go straight to A & E
BEWARE
Do not post your vaccination card on social media.
Your free data is Godsend to scammers
Louisaz says the vaccine is not a magic bullet. You will still need to wear your mask and social distance
